Purpose

Canada is undergoing a clean energy revolution.  Renewable energy is replacing fossil fuels. Green, energy efficient facilities are healthier and more economical.  Our emerging Electrification Society means we can heat and cool family homes and businesses; and fuel electric cars and trucks with clean power.

As Canada’s leading clean energy advisor to Indigenous communities, Lumos Energy focuses on ensuring that First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, communities and organizations have a prime place in this energy transition. Lumos Energy supports Indigenous clean energy projects and enterprises from coast-to-coast-to-coast.  Lumos Energy works in every region of Canada and has helped bring on line more than 30 clean energy projects over the past two decades based on Indigenous ownership. Projects which provide jobs, investment income, social benefits and economic development.  Projects that respect Indigenous Rights and Treaties, while protecting the Land, Waters, and Indigenous Cultures.

First Nations, Métis and Inuit leaders across Canada look to Lumos Energy as their trusted Clean Energy Advisor.  Chiefs and Councils, Nation and Tribal Leaders, and Indigenous Development Corporations rely on the highly qualified and experienced Lumos Energy Team, led by Chris Henderson, author of Aboriginal Power, to effectively plan clean energy projects, forge partnerships, and ‘get the best deal’ for the long-term.

Lumos Energy’s work is grounded on affirming relationships with Indigenous people and communities.  The company also offer strategic insights and analysis for governments and electricity companies to promote an energy future that is inclusive of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples.  Lumos works selectively on a few, high profile Indigenous Clean Energy projects at any time.  Developing clean energy infrastructure, for grid-connected and off-grid communities, that accelerates Canada’s transition to a clean energy future.
